Hi
Ive always clipped my horses muzzle and think it looks nice...LOL my husband just compared it to cutting the legs off of a spider...
OMGSH! he just showed me a website that said they are likened to organs with their own seperate nerve and blood supply...Wow, Really??

Unlike legs, these are just hairs and while the follicle is supplied with nerves and blood the hairs are just that: dead keratinized tissue. These long hairs have a tactile sensing function but horses seem to do OK without them.
