Does anyone know what the layman's term "DrOpped hip" means?? Does it affect the longterm soundness of a horse?

Thanks in advance,
Cindy

One of the problem with laymans terms is there is no standardly accepted dictionary to refer to so could mean different things to different laymen. Perhaps describing the problem would help. A DrOpped hip can mean serious permanant lameness from a fractured or dislocated hip or sacroliliac joint.
