On one of my massage calls, I noticed a great idea for re-using tennis balls after they lose their bounce.

Cut two slits in two and slide each one over your cross ties, up toward the hardware that clips to the halter. When you unclip and let them DrOp, they don't clank on the wall and scare the horse!

Cheers,

Another use for used tennis balls: cut a slit in them and push them over the top of t-posts. That is cheaper than the plastic caps one can buy for that purpose.
Thanks for the tip, Chris. I had not heard that one before.

Both of those tips are great . . . especially if one has a bunch of used tennis balls hanging around. Unfortunately, I don't have any and I may have to start hanging around tennis courts to find some used ones.

I'm gonna send the cross-tie tip to one of my friends who has two sets in her barn. She has beautiful tongue and groove wood walls in the barn, and I always hated to DrOp the cross ties and let them clank.

Really, I'm all for recycling and protecting wood walls.

But if your horses is scared by a metal snap hitting a wall, you need to do it about a 1000 times more until he's bored to death by it.

Good day,
Alden
