I have a question. We ride a lot on the roads and our horses are barefoot. the salt they put on the roads to melt ice is it safe for their feet. I know its bad for dogs feet. Thoughts

From what I have done for years, the salt from the roads can dry out the hooves if your horse is on stall but it doesn't hurt them. Dog paws are open pads with no protection. Horse hooves are like our finger nails and don't have soft skin to rip on the salt and pavement or rocks.
