I gave my two horses the Triple EFT + EHV on 02/08/03. One of the horses has developed a swelling, approx 4 inches wide at the injection site. (given on the neck) Is there anything in particular I should watch for and can I give him anything to alleviate the swelling and site discomfort? His appetite has not changed and there is no effect on motor function. (this horse has numerous allergies)
Thanks,
Pat

Hello Patricia,
The information on causes and treatments for equine vaccinations is given in the article in this section: » Care for Horses » Disease Prevention and Health Care » Vaccines and Vaccination Schedules: Equine Vaccines.

You should be careful as a infection can look like a sensitvity reaction and may need immediate veterinary care.
