Have you ever wondered what to do with your old worn out saddles that have sentimental value? Don't give them to the dump ground or sell them for peanuts. Take the fender skirts with the stirrups off and make a box that the saddle fits on. You can decorate the box however you like. You can stain it and then screw the saddle on to the lid (the same shape of the saddle) and walla, instant storage and a seat to sit on.
I saw this done for a 4-H project at the Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo in Austin recently.
Hats off to the younger generation!
This would be a great gift for the grandkids, a piece of heritage of days gone by.
