My 18 year old Standardbred gelding has sensitive front feet and acts very sore when he has to walk on anything rough (like my driveway or the edge of the road). I would really like to leave him barefoot (he hasn't had shoes on for a year) but I don't want him in pain when I ride him. Has anyone had any experience with this type of trim for a horse with really tender feet?
Thanks,
Pam

Mine have all been barefoot for years so I can not comment on sensitive feet. I have been told that they have 1/2 to 3/4" walls because I leave them barefoot and we have very rocky soil.

I was going to suggest Old Mac Hoofboots while he is developing thicker soles and walls. I have heard from many people that they work really well, of all the hoof boots out there.
