An old refrigerator/freezer turned on its back makes an excellent feed storage box. Remove and discard all the racks, ice maker and inside storage bins and clean it thoroughly. I store my commercial feed in the frig part and straight oats in the freezer part. In my barn I also have an old chest-type deep freeze which stores supplements, treats and meds which do not require refrigeration. The baskets make organizing and finding things really easy. Things remain clean and rodent-free.

I know many who swear by them, one precaution however, if it latches when closed so it cannot be opened on the inside it is a hazard to little kids: remove the latch from the inside, it will still seal when closed.

Well, I think most of the newer older fridges lack the latches but of course one should be safe.
As far as the old cars in the yard, they make excellent obstacle courses for the goats :-)
