I have a 13 yr old TB in good health who gets light to moderate exercise. My barn manager wants to switch his feed to senior feed (he's the only one in the barn now on regular feed). Would this give him more energy or make him "hotter"? He's energetic enough as it is. Thanks!

Hi Jennifer,

I think it would depend on the horse and which specific senior feed your barn manager is suggesting. If the barn manager wants to switch feed to just make it the same for everyone, I'd be reluctant to change something that is working for you now.

If your horse is having trouble keeping weight and chewing, senior feed may be a good switch.

Good Luck!
