As I was treating a horse for scratches, I realized how a box of throwaway surgical type gloves is handy for applying icky stuff to horses, like iodine/betadine and desitin. Once I'd done my job, I just peeled the glove off and put it in the trash. No permanent stains or ick.

BTW, you can find a box of gloves at your local drug store.

They are also really nice to have on hand when you discover it is time to clean your gelding's sheath......which is how I spent my morning. I venture to say that no other profs at my university had to deal with that prior to teaching THEIR classes today!!!

There's millions of good uses for those handy disposable gloves...another one is wearing them when you're wiping fly repellent on your horses
