I was getting ready to do a yearly double dose of Strongid paste and decided to look at your articles for an up date.

I noticed one of the paste worming programs called for ivermectin plus praziquantel at times - instead of the double dose of Strongid - was just trying to figure out where to look for the praziquantel.

Thanks!

Another name brand would be Zimectrin Gold and I believe there are others on the way.

Great, thanks. I guess I wasn't paying attention when these products came out. Sounds simpler than the double dose of Strongid.

Cheers.

Simpler, cheaper, and more effective.

Praziquantel on its own is sold as Equitape in Europe. The ivermectin plus praziquantel products like Equimax are actually MORE expensive here than buying them separately. Don't ask me why...

A secondary question here - I dewormed both horses last time with Equimax, forgetting that I had purchased 4 tubes of Strongid with which to deworm them the next time. Any harm in going ahead with the double dose of Strongid next time?

Not at all, it is what I would do.
