I have read the article and want to ask the best way to feed the vitamin tablets/capsules? I plan to buy the generic human vitamins (A & E) per DrO's recommendation for my horse who is currently on a diet. He only gets either last year's hay or soaked hay from this Spring and no grain/treats. I am not sure how to get these down him since it seems the vitamins would taste bitter. Sorry if this is a silly question but before I start crushing tablets and mixing with water, I thought I'd ask.....

Ann I just throw the Vit E gel tab right in the pellets.. they love it.. but they also get pellets top dressed with veg. Oil..

On the first day God created horses on the second day he painted them with spots.

Hello Ann S,
You could try Ann's recommendation and put them in whole to see if they might just chew them down, that would be easiest. If they avoid them I would lightly crush them them, then put them in the feed. Some find it easier to place them in a little water and let them fall apart. Remember these are multivitamins we are recommending and not just a A&E supplement in particular.

Thanks Ann & DrO. I was doubtful he would take it alone so I gave him about 1 tablespoon of senior pellets with the Vit E capsules and he ate it. Surely that small amount of pellets will not add weight. I plan to buy the multivitamins today and hope I can get them in the capsule form.
