What is it in this product that is stopping the wood chewing? the only glaring ingredient is the 58% omega 6 fatty acids?

https://www.farnamhorse.com/quitt/techinfo.htm

If that IS the key-is there another source for Omega 6's for a horse? I believe flax and soybean are omega 3 fatty acids...

Very good question. I hope there is someone that can answer it. We have been feeding flax for 2yrs now and it hasn't slowed down the "termites".
Also, if it is guananteed to work in 7 days....do you have to continue to feed it? (It seems that wood chewing can be almost a vise) If the product offers an ingredient that must be overdosed to work how healthy can that be used continually.

Someone on another board said it is the Bicarb, calcium and magnesium (think TUMS) that is the kicker. I have also heard several users say it works...

My concern is the BHT/BHA as a preservative.

I think the advertisement is messed up Leah with the amounts not matching the proper ingredient: the product is 6% fat with 58% of that (appx 3.5 % of the total) being the omega 6-fa. If this product works it would surprise me as none of the ingredients are all that unusual.
