I've found that dosing syringes (for oral meds) start getting hard to use after they've been washed, so after the syringe is clean, I spray a light mist of non-stick cooking spray into the syringe and onto the plunger. Slide it up and down a few times, lock it up in a baggie, and it's ready (and willing!) when you need it. Jerre

Hi Jerre: I like the idea about the aide for the sticky oral dosing syringe, but you must also be careful that bacteria doesn't grow in your syringe from this. It would depend on how soon you will again be using the syringe after washing and treating this way and how it is stored. It may be better to wash it and keep the parts separate and then use the non-stick cooking spray just before use. Just a thought! Sherry

Sherry, Yes, that''s what I should have explained. I do this daily during a course of bute, for instance. Then store a cleaned syringe without the spray for longer periods.
