Any info regarding vaccinating older horses? Small animal vets are recommending boosters less often than yearly for felines and canines. Any updates for our senior horses?

Hello Pamela,
We recommend vaccinating horses of all ages according to our directions in the articles. Unfortunately we do not have any vaccines currently that are as effective as some of those used in small animal medicine that allows less frequent vaccination. There have been some question about the frequent vaccination schedule possibly inducing some of the allergic type diseases in horses but as of this time nothing it is just supposition.
