My question is my mare had Mastitis last year after foaling and we got it all cleared up Can I look forward to same this year will Mastitis come back year after year in the same mare ?

tHANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP i WAS THINK SOME ONE MUST HAVE DID A STUDY on this if you had to guess what % would you say of the mare have it again would be thank you wade

I don't have any statistical studies on which to base such a guess and for your individual case such studies would be almost meaningless. It depends on many variables with the 2 most important being - is there something that predisposes the mammry gland to infection
- did the mastitis cause any permanant damage

I have one of my mare here had Mastitis on the right side of her utter and I got it cleared up my question is if i breed the mare will she have this mastitis flare up when she start to bag up before foaling any help would be welcome thank you
