I tried to get it out...off, but couldn't I then wondered do beans come out by themselves? or does he have a melanoma.Called the vet and he said he was sure it probably the a bean coming out and to go take it out. First I read the article in here then proceeded to try again, this thing won't come out. Called vet again and he is coming tomorrow morning. IS this a bean? It's pretty big! |

But from the photos cannot determine whether an unseen bean is causing an appearance of such external protrusion. It kind of looks like there is something extra appearing here. Hope it turns out okay for you and your horse. |

When he was 5 the vet checked him for a bean and there was none. I didn't think beans came out on their own. Vet theroized that since Hank has lost a lot of weight it is working itself out? I will be curious what he says tomorrow. I will be even happier if it is gone tomorrow and save me a vet bill...if indeed it is a bean. |

It's like trying to turn a 1/2 an orange inside out . . . sorta . . . kinda . . . then, sometimes the bean can "pop" out a bit . . . and sometimes you can help it a bit if you can get your finger under it or behind one edge. If you can try that first, you may not need the vet. |

I tried gently to pry it out but it wouldn't come out...the vet said to just pull it out but I couldn't bring myself to do that. He hasn't seen it yet and I am not sure it is a bean....does it look like one? Thanks |

I was amazed. Afterward, he peed in the trailer on the way home, which he never does, peed when he got off the trailer at home, peed in his stall immediately afterward. It was almost like WOW, I can really go now. I have never checked my other horses for beans, guess I will now.suz |
