I need any advice on intalling automatic heated waters in my small barn. The barn is not heated and we are looking for some simple plan to keep from having frozen buckets and would like the feature of having automatic waterers

We put in nelson waterers when we built our barn. We also have one out in the pasture. I highly recomend nelson. They are the best. Well worth the investment. For the outside waterer, the waterline runs directly from the basement of the house, below the frostline outside, to the waterer. When you buy the waterer, buy the insulation kit. It keeps the water pipe from freezing from where it comes up through the frostline to the waterer. There is a heating element under the bowl of the waterer. For the barn, my husband ran one line from the house to the tackroom in the barn. We do heat the tackroom because of the water, we keep it about 40 degrees. My husband wanted a separate water line going from the tackroom to each waterer so if one line froze, the other waterers would be okay. Everything runs under the concrete aisle so would be a pain if it froze under the slab. All lines run well under the frostline. Last year we had some lengthy cold weather and had the line in the tackroom froze for the first time because of the cold air coming under the slab. This summer my husband installed heat tape to prevent that problem. It was the first time in 4 years we had a frozen pipe. Buckets are too time consuming for me because I work and just don't have the time. I love my automatic waterers
