A family recently had an Andalusian gelding (with microchip and brand) and an Azteca mare stolen in the Houston Texas area. Someone cut the chain on their fence and took them two nights ago, or yesterday morning. To add insult to injury, their new trailer was also stolen...to transport the horses. They have reached out to many organizations in the state. CSI, and three law enforcement organizations are involved. They were on tv last night and will be on tv again tonight. One fear is that the perpetrator made it across the Mexican border or is already in another state. Tx. A & M's agricultural extension staff are involved. netposse is involved. The family is totally devastated. Thoughts and prayers are appreciated. Any ideas on finding these horses on a nationwide level? I can only imagine the pain the owners are going through. They have sent pictures with flyers on both horses. I don't know how to get the pictures out of the flyers and into this site for you. Perhaps I could email the owner and ask for small jpeg files. Posting at feed stores, etc., throughout the country might help. Its been over 24 hours now. The horses might be anywhere.... Again, your help is appreciated! Judy https://www.ranchodellago.net/

Judy, I believe dreamhorse.com and equine.com both have a page for posting stolen/missing horses. If not done already, you may want to suggest to the family that they get the info posted on both sites ASAP. You never know when the right person is looking at the right info at the right time... I will will keep my fingers crossed that both horses are returned to their family.

Thanks Fran, I will follow-up and see if they are already posted. The horse community has really rallied around recovery of these horses and a $4,000 reward is now being offered. Here is a link from the dressage association: https://www.dressage.com/photoads/CurrentAds/1207/stolen.htm Looking at the time line of how fast people responded who didn't even know these people is absolutely amazing! This is one of the most frightening things to me. To lose horses to criminals. I can only imagine what the family and horses are going through. Judy 0 0 \_/

Hope they find them soon. Just a thought, a pic of the trailer would be nice too- you'll see the trailer before the horses.
