Just saw a great way to carry vasaline in your first aid kit to use with your thermometer. Take a tall narrow pill bottle and fill it with vasaline. Drill a hole the size of your thermometor in the middle and you can just dip your thermometer through the hole and you get just enough to make taking termeratures easy. Also keep individual steril wipes to clean off the thermometer when you are done.
