[Dr O feel free to move this]

Does anyone have experience of software packages aimed at barn managers? The manager of our local showjumping/livery yard just called me asking me to go and teach him how to use his computer. I wondered what packages you all use, how you find them, what facilities they are missing etc.

This guy has about 55 horses in livery, a large indoor and outdoor arena, runs competitions twice a week etc.

Thanks for any thoughts...

GREAT question Imogen. I am interested in packages that have breeding/pedigree management too...
For dressage competitions, many people in Canada use a product called Fox Village. It has two components - a show manager component that is loaded on the desktop and a web-component that is run by the vendor; you organize your show using the desktop and then upload your results to the web. It works very nicely. https://www.foxvillage.com/ I know there is an equivalent for jumpers and hunters...

So let's see, what are the elements people want to manage...

Breeding records
Veterinary/worming records
Livery bills
Farriery
Feed (and recharging)
Booking of arenas and other facilities
Competition fees

I will ring the BHS and ask them about UK packages.

Come on, all you HA barn managers, don't tell me y'all still do it on paper in case the tax man might see... or do you just all make up your own Excel spreadsheets that suit you?

All the best

Imogen
