This question came up and got me to thinking about it.

Does a foals hoof grow out after an injury at the same rate as an adult horse?

Hmmm I don't know Linda but the answer will depend on the meaning of "growth rate". Rate could be measured in inches (cm) per month or as a percentage of the total length.

Just kibitzing, I would note that we trim our foals on about the same schedule as adults suggesting a similar percentage but a slightly slower absolute rate of growth. This does not take into account the rate of wear which may be greater in foals. The defect has a shorter distance to go suggesting it will be gone quicker. How these various factors balance out I am not certain.
