Does anyone know about or have any experience with Easywalker shoes? My mare, Amanda, has severe side bone and has been lame since May this year. It has been recommended by Prof. Hubert (he was here from America for a few weeks) that she gets shoes with egg bars. She got the shoes last week. She was sound for a less than a week then went lame again on Thursday. So we decided to try the easywalker shoes which are much lighter and is shock absorbent. I'm so fustrated, I don't know what to do anymore!!!

Just an added note: Amanda weighed in at 650 kg (1433 lb)2months ago and six weeks afterwards weighed in at 600kg (1322 lb). She is a big girl!! Also we took measurements of her front hoof yesterday and the width is 15cm (6 in)and the length was roughly 16cm (6.3 in)!!!!

Lea-Anne that is one big hoof! Are they sure it isn't just poor hoof confirmation making her sore or at least adding to the problem? LOng toe, under run heel? Can you post some pics of her hooves? Have the Easy Walker shoes helped? Maybe trying something as simple as a boot with a thick pad would help? Or an aluminum shoe with a pour in pad. Hope Amanda feels better soon.

They look very impressive, Lea-Anne. After viewing the website I instantly wanted to go out and get some for my horse! Does your farrier use them or did you have to order them specially for Amanda? What about price? I look forward to seeing Amanda posing prettily in them.

Here are the photos (sorry her hooves are so dirty, they were wet and she got them full of sawdust when I had to put her in the stable to get the camera) was in a hurry but will take full body photos of her when I have time How do they look? LL, we had to order them just for Amanda due to their size, price wise it was cheaper them the normal steel shoes with egg bars. I live in South Africa, so I'm not sure about the overseas prices. Amanda seem very comfortable in them. However she is still lame and our vet thinks she'll have to rest for 6-8 months. How can I keep her occupied? I can't even take her for a walk!

https://tenderhoof.com/m_33.asp this is the shoe i put on my gelding that has had hoof problems since he was 3-4 years old.. ring bone /sore heels/ you name it.. and This pad has been a blessing this time around... we actually got 5 weeks on this shoeing.. I normaly have him done every 4 weeks in the 3rd week he is starting to show he is ouchy... NOT in these shoes.. I called the farrier and said we can go another week.. today he gets them changed out ... Will see what the farrier says re the conditon of his over all hoof now with out a full pad on.. LeaAnne, interesting shoe.. i just love the internet with the wealth of ideas we can fall on.. On the first day God created horses, on the second day he painted them with spots..
