Hello julia,
Considering the information you have given I feel a bit like you, confused. Is the current condition also very pruritic like the summer disease? Rather than comparing the current condition to rain rot can you describe the lesions you are seeing? Or perhaps a couple of good images of the horse and hair being lost?

PS julia, if you will use proper capitalization and punctuation your posts will be easier to read and will get more responses.
