Discussion on Dumb Question About Ivermectin Gold

I ummmm, have a question to ask concerning Zimectrin Gold paste:

Much to my dismay, when Iverease went off the market (and I keep begging Farnum to bring it back), there went the primary in-feed wormer in my worming program. All of my horses are on a rotational schedule and I have all catagories covered with an in-feed except now for the twice yearly invermectin. My local farm store said that their horses will eat the Zimectrin Gold right in their food, so tonight, I gave it a try. It went fairly well except.....my Arab/Paint got wise to it and I didn't get the entire amount into him however.....being that the first part went down at 5:00, if I sneak the rest into his 9:30 grain and get a little over the total amount into him within a few hours, will that still work? This wormer is a combo of ivermectin and praziquantel for bots and tapeworms.

I read the article on wormers working better on an empty stomach however, I have done well with in-feeds. So, if I get it into him within a few hours, will it still work? I love in-feeds, not a head shy in the barn.

It is not known if you feed the dewormer in that manner if it will be effective on not PattyB. You can repeat another full dose however in a day or two and not expect problems.
