Posted on Friday, Jan 2, 2009 - 6:01 pm: This is on the abuse/neglect case where an older woman and her sons were charged with starving and neglecting their large herd of horses in the Carolinas. All of the horses were very well bred, and even included a past National Champion stallion.https://www.thestate.com/local/story/632457.html |

Which does often work.Take the mare who was shot 6 times and left for dead in the Arizona outback. She picked herself up and walk to the nearest house knocked on the front door and got herself Help! He is being prosecuted! Yeah! |

Don't you wish it was in our power to help all the abused? Animals and people alike? All we can do is do the best we can with the ones around us, and that we know of. As with most of you, it is beyond my comprehension. A horse, an animal, a child - they are all our responsibilities and their needs should be equal, if not before our own imo. I know the economy is rough, but there have always been plenty of cases of abuse regardless of the state of the economy. It goes deeper than lack of money. I know there are exceptions, like the elderly who no longer have the mental or physical means to care for a pet, or who have become deranged and no longer are aware of the pet's needs. Other than those cases, I think there is something deeply wrong emotionally and mentally and morally with one who will abuse either a child or an animal...or another living thing of any sort. I was raised poor; many of my my relatives were poor farmers. I can remember many dinners that consisted of beans and cornbread. Yet, the animals were always fed and cared for, whether they were the pigs and chickens, or the cows, horses and mules. O.K. off the "sermon" mode now and back to chores. Sorry! |
