Hi, this Spring I hope to return my formally obese horse back out to pasture. I'd like to use a grazing muzzle from the start. Do I follow the same transitioning from hay to grass guidelines or can I tack on a little additional time since he'll be eating less?

Melissa, this probably depends on the type of grazing muzzle you use and how adept your horse is at getting to the grass through it. Also to some extent the condition of your grass and how it helps or hinders your horse's efforts!

I would probably introduce pasture as gradually as I would without the muzzle just to be on the safe side.

Isn't it nice to daydream about spring? :-)
