I will be moving my Quarter Horse from Delaware, Ohio to the East Bay area in about a month. The latest discussions I found on this topic were in 2007, where Holly Wood and Kathleen referred RJ Horse Transportation. Is this still a good recommendation? How much notice do I need to allow, typically? If unable to use his services, who else might be considered wonderful? We want this move to be the least stressful possible, and having never done this before, any advice would be so appreciated.

An HA member, Cyndy and her husband Walt are haulers. I have communicated before with Cyndy about their service, and if I were shipping a horse, it would ONLY be with Walt! I can't find the email address (hopefully Cyndy will see this), but email me at the address in my profile and I'll email you their phone numbers. Their business name is Miller Farms Equine Transport.

OK Marilyn, I've found Cyndy's email address. Email me and I'll forward it to you. Dr O discourages us from putting email addresses in the open forums. Julie

I think Jos said Cyndy and Walt were terrific help to her also, in case you need another reference.

Hi guys... here I am. Been in a pickle the past month. I wrote a letter to AARP basically telling them off, and sent it to about 10 people. I am now averaging over 40 emails and phone calls a day from folks all over the world. YIKES.Last week Fox News called saying they wanted to book me for the weekend show, thank GOd they didn't... that would have only left me 3 days to lose 35 pounds! This has become a time & stress management issue.

Marilyn, Call or email me. Walt will be in Ohio next week picking up horses going to California. I will also try to get him back up there again next month to see his sister in Minerva...and if our timing doesn't work out for you, I will help you weed through and get what you need.

Hey, so funny that this thread was posted. One of my boarders might need to move a horse from here (Chillicothe, IL)to SLC Utah. Could you give me a quote? The horse is for sale but doesn't look as though it's gonna go thru. So he has to go back to UT.

My email is on my profile...thanks

Cyndy, I'm proud to know you--and girl, you can really write! I googled your name along with "AARP letter" and YOU'RE FAMOUS! Dr. O will be proud as well I think judging from some of the lounge discussions!

Oh My Gosh! You all are the BEST! When I posted this request yesterday, I was at my Dad's Texas home. Although, I could get the replies on my phone, I wasn't able to respond 'til now. How frustrating is that? Very!

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Julie, I will definitely call Cyndy. Thanks to you Erika for further support. Cyndy, how I wish my timing corresponded with Walt's Ohio to CA trip. My hope is that many folks will want to move their horses West with you all next month. My timing is somewhat flexible, but no earlier than mid-October.

Being an old, inexperienced horse person, my lurking has been profound. And when I really need help, here you all are! This awesome site helps so many with super advice and caring. Traveling today, but will follow through tonight.
