Posted on Thursday, Jan 27, 2011 - 8:24 pm: Got BOA boots today after calling the easyboot people about getting Easyboot RX. When I gave the lady on the phone the measurements, she said a BOA boot would fit better according to his measurements. She said a size 3. Well, I got themtoday and we cannot get them on him. If we get the front part of his hoof in and pull on the back he still cannot get the back down into the boot like it's suppose to be. I ordered these because he has laminitis, flat feet and I thought he would be much more comfortable with these. Sending them back tomorrow to try a size 4. P.S. we also remeasured his feet tonite, just in case, and it came out the same as what I told the lady at Easyboot. Width:5 6/8 length 5 1/4. According to the chart a 3 would fit. |

You are making me do math one of my many weaknesses! Isn't 5 6/8 = to 5 3/4? Are you sure you don't have the length and width mixed up? or that you measured the length right? Sounds like the Boa's are too short which would suggest you may have the length wrong. It's unusual but not rare to have a hoof wider than it is long. Measuring for boots drives me nuts, I have got them wrong before too.Red is where you measure width (the widest part of the hoof. Black is the length. ![]() |

The easyboot rx would have been fine with me. Lady at easyboot said I should get the BOA. When I send them back, maybe I'll get the easy boot. The Boa box size cart says size 3 fits, W,5 1/4 to 5 7/8 and L.5 3/8 to 5 7/8. I don't want a rub problem! Easyboot rx size 3,would not fit in width.Size 4 would work but the length would be excess by an inch. What do you think, Diane? |

The Rx's run a little small too. 4 does seem big tho for a little guy!If you don't need these boots to ride I would go with the RX's MOST "riding" type boots need a break in period, the RX's don't I really think you would be happier with them. I left my horses in them for about 8 hrs. a day...with medicated gold bond sprinkled in everytime, and had no problems with anything, with either horse. Wish you lived closer I'd let you try mine ![]() Does his toe look long? |

It looks like these may fit Butch?? If they would I would gladly send them to you to try if they don't work send them back. I will never use them again. Hank's hoof has shrunk way too much for them. If they fit you can have them 1/2 price. They may need pads you will have to see how he goes in them first. |

Posted on Friday, Jan 28, 2011 - 9:15 am: Diane, What a kind offer! That would really save me some $$$ too! I looked at the size chart for the Old Mac G2 and the length is the same as the EasyBootrx size 3. I don't think he's long in the toe? Right now I'm just so anxious to get him in some boots so I can feel good about turning him out. I could give your boots a try but I'm afraid that with shipping time and cost back and forth that I would be quite delayed over ordering from Valley Vet supply. They are real close to me and there is no shipping charge AND I get the stuff the next day! What do you think? Get the 4 in easyboot rx and keep the 12mm pads I ordered in case I need to take up a little room? The easyboot rx comes with 6mm pads. Thanks so much, Diane! BTW, where do you live? |

Posted on Friday, Jan 28, 2011 - 4:28 pm: I do know the Old mac g'2's size 8 is HUGE! I really am having a hard time picturing your horses hoof being that big... can you take a pic like the one I have above and post it?I love Valley Vet ![]() ![]() ![]() I would keep the extra pads JIC. Hope they fit. I live in NW Il. |
