Is it just Minnesota farriers, or are farriers in other states equally great storytellers?

Heidi,

When I was growing up in MN, I loved having the farrier show up to shoot the breeze. Always interesting stories, and I remember one who brought his wife every time. They'd bring stuff from the garden, and share so much of their knowledge about horses as well as gardening. Don't know how they made money as they didn't charge much, DrOve 45 miles to our place, and left us with food!

Had wonderful guys here in MI too, only one was a bit too windy for my taste, and had a high opinion of himself and his work. Only had him over once.

I do miss my old farrier since he moved. And I miss the stories since now I trim all by myself...not as interesting.

Most of my farriers have enjoyed gabbing.

I've learned so much from my present one!

Always telling me about case histories.

I think if you are around horses as much as farriers are, you can't help but have great stories!
