Now that we are entering the fly season, I was wondering if Farnam Simplifly feed through would have any adverse effects on dogs who occasionally eat the poop before I can get to it. Thank you. Leilani

Hi Leilani, I have used it for a few years, no harmful effects for the dogs. When I first got chickens, I had some correspondence with Farnam to the effect that it would cause no problems for chickens or humans eating the chicken eggs, also. Seems to be true!

Hi Kathy,

Flies, flies, flies and no amount of fly spraying seems to help. My 2 dogs and our neighbor's dog just love to dine on the poop. Who can explain taste.

Thanks again. Leilani

I am trying to get by without it this year (lack of funds), hoping the chickens scratching through the poop will keep the population down enough. It's been a very dry year here so far, not too bad yet. But I wouldn't hesitate to go back to it, I really thought it helped.

Yup, no accounting for taste...

I stopped the simplifly as well. at $70 a month, I could not justify the expense when I looked at the results. Now I have the fly traps which I replace every 3 weeks at $3.50 a piece, buy a case of bronco every other month,(online $ are better) and it works GREAT... I even spray it on me. And the D-earth for a feed through. I got 2 bags for the season at $23 ea. I am MORE than pleased with our diminished fly population this year.Last year between predators, spray, traps and feed through I was spending about $140 a mo.... now I am down to @ $50 a mo and so far so good.(knocking on wood til the knuckles bruise)That's $90 a mo back in the hay budget.
