I just switched vets recently and showed her my vaccination schedule for her to pick up this Fall. She shared with me she does not give the Patomac as her study of this vaccination says it is ineffective and there seems to be no difference in horses vaccinated and not in getting this illness. Just wondering what others think about this. I did read the article regarding it, but looking for more specifics I guess.

I have a friend (who's opinion I value) who has always told me that she gives the potomac vaccine and she has stressed that I should give it to my horses. She lost a horse to it two years ago. After reading the article about it I'm not so sure. If it's that ineffective then why am I going to the extra expense. I'll be waiting with Cindy for your answer DrO.

Other than what is in the article Cindy, what specifically more do you want?
