We have given this article a major update. We have moved the emphasis on explaining how vaccines work and don't work and moved much of the disease specific information into the schedule and articles on the specific disease. I hope you find it informative and useful.

Hello, I am a new member. I have a question for Dr. O. I want to administer my own vaccines to my small herd,(5 horses) here in GA. What do I look for as far as a reputable source that handles their vaccines in the proper way? I want to mail order with next day air.

Welcome Vicki,
I am not personally aware of how any of these companies operate so the first thing that I would recommend is to get endorsements from your friends. The objective evidence would be:
1) prompt service
2) well in-date vaccines
3) they arrive cold
