I told one of my boarders that her grain had bugs in it. She just kind of looked at me and asked "would you feed it to your horse?" and I said no. She said, well they are just the little bugs with wings. This grain was given to her from a boarder that moved out (good person) and was kept in a metal trash can. My thought is that if that bug can get in, what other bugs are in there?

Also, I was mixing up my horses supplements and there was what I think was a magget (sp?) (I think) in the glucosamin supplement... I plan on dumping it and getting some more tomorrow.

All other grain in my barn is stored in those plastic bins with the spin tops, bug proof and rodent proof.Oh and yes, I make sure to always close the lids tight.

What is it this year with bugs!

The bugs themselves may not be harmful but their presence suggests the food may have been mishandled.

Thank you Dr. O, I talked to her yesterday and she's tossing it.
