I found a guy who is selling timothy/brome/clover hay, does anyone know what that is? I know what timothy and clover is but I'm not sure what brome is?

We fed brome hay in Nebraska and it was very good hay. I believe it is a native grass there, like coastal bermuda is here. DrO can tell you about the specifics of it, but our horses did great on it with a little added alfalfa. I would love to get that hay if it is fresh and clean. Kathleen

Patricia, In the midwest Brome is about the only good grass hay we can grow in abundance for feeding horses. I feed my horses pure Brome and have never had a problem with it. Hope this helps. Judi

Sounds great, I'll buy it, sounds like a good mix and he's only charging $115/ton. That's pretty average for around Newport, WA actually. Thanks for the help.

I used to feed the same combo. It was really great and my horses did do well with it. I moved and now only have orchard or alfalfa as choices. My horses have a horrible personality change on alfalfa. So really I don't have no choice. I am looking to have a semi load delivered from out of town so I can get the very mix you are talking about.
