  Discussion on EPM and stallions

I have been combing through anything and everything dealing with EPM and have run into what appears to be more treatment failures in stallions than mares or geldings. Could their testosterone levels be adversely effecting their prognosis for survival?

Hello Judith,
Well I guess it could be but I cannot think of a mechanism by which this would work. It may have more to do with job description and expectations. A stallion is expected to balance himself on this two hind feet and the mare. Small amounts of incoordination or weakness may prevent him from performing at 100%.
