Discussion on H202 sarcoid treatment | |

Posted on Thursday, May 30, 2002 - 3:42 pm: I have a 5 yr qh gelding with confirmed fibreblastic sarcoids inside his ear and outside - i am just completing a 14 week herbal program from Robert McDowell - Austrailia - they were supposed to fall off after 5 weeks - they did change - peeled and crusted and peeled and crusted - are a lot looser and somewhat smaller - but are definitely not dying - i now must look in another direction for treatment - there have been many discussions lately on the yahoo group equine_sarcoid about using 35%HyDrOgen peroxide as an additive to the water. Various strengths example 1 cup/250ltrs, 2.5 ml/1 gallon, 1.5-2 oz per 100 gal, 10ml/5gal, 12cc/5gal - I have looked up oxygen sites and have found the good and bad - the results from the people using it are pretty amazing - one horse suffered for 8 years and the vet had given up and within 3 months the sarcoids were gone - my questions i guess are have you ever heard of this? and how do you feel about using 35% food grade hyDrOgen peroxide - thanks Janet Schmidt |

Posted on Friday, May 31, 2002 - 6:51 am: I have not heard anything about this nor is there anything in the mainstream veterinary literature about this. At the concentrations you are listing you might as well just wet the sarcoid down with water and the testimonials without value. Sarcoids do disappear on their own occasionally. If we presume this is more likely than wetting the sarcoid periodically, whatever the lady had used last would now appear on her web site as the miracle cure. Recommended treatments and their outcome are in the article on sarcoids.DrO |

Posted on Tuesday, Jun 11, 2002 - 12:09 pm: Hi,I have a filly who had a sarcoid the size of a grapefruit on her stifle area.... It the fibroblastic type that bled and grew continually.... It started when she was 9 months old and by 1 1/2 years she stunk so bad and was so run down.... I started the H202 35 % Technical Grade HyDrOgen peroxide on March 10th and it worked wonderfully. After over a year of her being run down and having a huge growth, it is now barely there.... about the size of a eraser on a pencil is the mark where it was....I'm still treating it at the moment, with nothing other than the internally taken H202 in the water.. I do not put anything on the sarcoid. She has never looked better either! Jocelyn |

Posted on Wednesday, Jun 12, 2002 - 6:54 am: Hello Jocelyn,That is great that the tumor has almost gone away but it is not do to consuming hyDrOgen peroxide. Once ingested it very rapidly breaks down to water and oxygen neither of which is likely to change the physiology of the rest of the body. The amount of water provided is miniscule compared to that consumed and even if the oxygen gets into the blood the concentration is modified and brought back down by respiration. This is a case where the temporal relationship (I did A and B happened) is coincidental. DrO |
