My sisters horse got tangled in a rope two days ago. She rinsed it off and put Bag Balm on it. Today it is swollen and very dirty. The mare won't let you near it. At the time it didn't appear too bad, there was no blood or anything. Do we need to use antibiotic ointment and wrap it, or is it best to leave it alone?

Without examing the wound Julie, I cannot guess what the best treatment might be, you should have your vet out to get a close look at this now.
