Author Message

Thorughbred with what appears to be "water diabetes" or Extreme thirst and consequent urination. will drink something like 60 to 80 litres of water overnight and urinate profusely.
Any help with diagnosis and treatment?

There are a number of possibilites and you need to start with a complete physical exam and blood work up looking for signs of: kidney disease including medullary wash out, equine cushinoid disease, or diabetes. That will find about 95% of the cases. Let us know what they find.

Instead of posting your question at the bottom of someone elses discussion you should create your own. You will get more responses and it helps others find related information better. This is the appropriate forum for your topic, so just back up to the Forum Page where all the discussions are listed. The easiest way to do this is using the navigation bar at the top of this page and selecting: Forum. Once on the Forum page select: New Discussions. Choose a title that is descriptive.
