I have two horses in training at a facility close by. One of the other horses there came down with what looked like strangles, this horse goes to shows a lot. Anyway, the vet says it's not strangles but a cold that got bad. The glands have burst and are draining pus..I've never heard of a cold doing that..what do you say Dr. O?

I think Strangles could be described as a "cold that got bad". Ask the veterinarian what organism he thinks it is and why.

Thanks, the woman who owns the horse is refusing to let the vet culture. Why? Well the only thing I can think of is she wants to take this mare to a show coming up. Unbelievable, I know..I want to scream at her..
