Hello Everyone,
A specific antisera therapy has become available from Novartis for West Nile Virus. It is a preformed WNV antibody of equine origin. This product has only conditional approval indicating the government believes it might be effective and probably is safe but uncertainty remains. The article on WNV has specific information on what we know about this product, see the therapy section.

Dr. O,
I used this product for the first time today on a suspected WNV case in a 17 yr QH stallion.
Have you used this since it came out, or have you heard anything from others who have used it?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Jennifer,
We have been out of town the past week and I wanted to get back and see if there were any new references and don't see anything new published nor have I used it.
