Discussion on Deafness in Paint Horses

I am considering buying a deaf horse. He is 11 years old and has been deaf all of his life. Evidently it is not unknown for Paints to have this problem..although rare.

I have never been around a deaf horse. He is a great guy and would be the sort of horse I am looking for except for this one problem.

I am looking for feedback from others that might have owned a deaf horse.

Any help you could provide would be appreciated.
