Just wondering what the current evaluation of cure rates using the formalin injection for ethmoid haematomas? Is this just a passing fad or are horses really cured by this approach?

A study that I looked at didn't convince me that there really was any cure, only repetative treatments and cases lost to follow up.

Horses have really been cured (Vet Surg. 1998 May-Jun;27(3):175-81. Transendoscopic chemical ablation of progressive ethmoidal hematomas in standing horses.) There have been serious complications reported in one case.
