I have a 14 year old mare that has an injury on her withers. My vet calls it a fistula. I have been doing cold water therapy on it twice a day.
Today, he asked me about surgery to scrape away all of the dead tissue and start with a "clean"
area. Has anyone had something like this on their horse? How did you take care of it and how
long was the recovery? I can't figure out how this happen. We had been at a show just before I found a sore about one inch long and 1/4 inch wide.
