Doc O.............have a 24 year old QH, that last year developed (3) lesions, that errupted tearing the skin. These came one a day for three days, NO indication, until they popped out through the skin. Last year they developed around the sheath. This year*same time*, onset of Spring, there were again, (3) erruptions, but, this time between the rear legs.

They come and heal overnight, leaving a scar.

The Vet took a skin graph and sent it out to be tested. The test results were inconclusive, only to note that the possible cause was an alergic reaction.

Any clues, helpful insights and preventative measures would be MOST helpful.

Hello Vikki,
If the skin were really torn it would not heal overnight. Could you take a picture of one of these erruptions? That may be more helpful as your description does not trigger anything I can think of. Also, post all the histopath report in this discussion and I will be glad to review them for you.

Something similar is happening to my 17 month old colt. Please post any findings.

Dr. O Could it be some sort of insect tick maybe that goes under the skin and then breaks through to come out. I has happen to one of my dogs. Only he lives in the city with me and not at the ranch with the horses.

THank you and I wish you well
