Dr.O. we are starting to suspect that some of our cows are infected with BVD and may have some PI yearlings...(long story). The herd is going to be tested next week, of course I have been studying the disease on the web and was rather distraught to find out it crosses many species. The articles said goats, sheep, bison, deer, and many other animals. It did not name horses specificly but was wondering if you know if they are included in the "many other animals"? My horses graze he same pasture as the calves and yearlings. Thanks

I have never seen any indication that horses get Bovine Viral Diarrhea and as far as I know, it is confined to ruminants.
