A friend of mine just claimed a pacer who has very sore feet and is shod with what she described as "half a shoe" and pads. Does anyone have any experience with this type of shoe or have any experience with this? My friend was going to soak his feet in epsom salts---would this do anything if their is no abcess?? Unless it gets really bad I'm sure the poor guy will continue to be worked--any ideas to help him out a bit? Thanks!!

The question Cassandra is why are the feet sore, until this is addressed it is difficult to recommend proper therapy. If you believe they are bruised see, Equine Diseases » Lameness » Diseases of the Hoof » Hoof Abscesses, Bruises, and Gravels.
