I have gone to pick it up a day or two after drawn, when in a rush, avoiding slow mail- that would of taken 5 days.
Chris
I would think with all the coggins tests done at shows or auctions the results are immediate if needed.

I got mine this year in 24 hours...
Most of our clients can get them within 72 hours, I have heard of places that can't get them sooner than 1 week.... Depends on where you are.

Mine come back in aprox 7 to 10 days. Not sure if it matters how they are processed. In my part of MI, the vet sends the sample to Michigan State U and then the results are mailed directly back to me.

Thanks all,
I believe my vet said we can get them rushed back in 72 hours for a fee. but I couldnt remember what the normal non-rushed time was.
Im trying to get my coggins and health certificate at the same time. trying to figure out the logistics of it all. Im going to call him tomorrow.
thanks guys,
leslie

There are 2 tests available the AGID (Coggins) and the newer ELISA test. The AGID takes 24 hours to run while the ELISA just takes minutes but this is not the most important factor on turn around time. The single biggest variable is whether they need to be mailed or the lab picks up the samples from the practice and delivers the results. If it is mailed distance becomes another factor. Also of consideration is that most labs give discounts to run bigger batches so some practices may hold samples up to a week accumulating a number of tests to lower costs.
