Attached is a photo of my warmblood filly, taken last fall when she was 14 months old. Normal at birth, her knees rather than staying flat have developed a slight puffiness in front, rather than the flat knees of my other yearling. She's perfectly sound and has never been injured and her knees appear the same on both sides. Is this something I should worry about?

Hello Ann, Though I cannot really make out any detail of the puffiness. Though the fact it is bilateral and there is no lameness suggests this is not of much consequence I would be concerned with swellings in the front of the knee. I would recommend you have the veterinarian examine the knees to determine exactly what is puffy and why. He may determine it is not of any consequence but until examined we won't know. DrO

I appreciate your comments. Because she's otherwise so healthy, I haven't worried too much, but my vet is coming out next week to see another one of my horses so I'll have him look at Chloe then. I'll let you know what he says. Thanks kindly.

Ann, I know this is an old post, but did your vet look at your yearling and if so what was the feedback? And the outcome? Thanks, Julie
