Recently I had an eye exam done on my horse. My vet told me she has target lesions and some are clustered. I still dont quite understand what they are or where they came from. Anyone have any info?
thank you so much!

Hello Nancy,
"Target lesions" tells us of the general shape of the lesion but not necessarily the location or nature of the lesion. We need to know on what tissue the lesion occurs and the nature of the lesions before we can be of much help. A common reference I find to target lesions in humans is that of corneal edema secondary to viral keratitis. I don't notice the term used much in equines however.
